The mayor announced two public meetings set for Oct. 3 and invited residents to attend and provide feedback. A Mac Porter Park Connector shared-use path open house will be held at the Kearney Senior Center from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a meeting on the 2018 International Code Council (ICC) building code update at Kearney City Hall from 5 to 6 p.m.
"There will be a meeting at the Kearney Senior Center on Thursday, October 3... It'll be from 4PM to 6PM," the mayor said, urging residents to attend the open-house format meeting to ask questions and share thoughts on the connector project. For those unable to attend, the mayor said residents may contact their elected alderman or the mayor's office.
The mayor also announced the board has postponed the official vote on the 2018 ICC code update twice and encouraged the public to review the updates prior to the meeting. The board framed both events as opportunities for public input before final action is scheduled.
