Trout Lake area scheduled for county comprehensive-plan outreach in April

Council members described the county's multi-year comprehensive-plan process and local outreach plans, noting Trout Lake's public session is scheduled for April 10 at The Grange.
Pat Arnold said councils are coordinating to obtain seats on a proposed advisory committee and that four planning-commission meetings will follow community meetings before a rough draft is released. Rob and Evan (county long-range planner) were named as participants in the process, and a separate solar advisory group is meeting to develop recommendations for solar siting and impacts. Council members emphasized parks, water planning and other local interests should be included in sub-area planning.
The council discussed that Klickitat County's last formal plan dates to 1979 and that updated state partial-planning guidelines (2024) inform the content and schedule of the new work. Residents were encouraged to attend the Trout Lake session on April 10 and local councils said they would continue to coordinate input across community councils.
