Village leaders reviewed multiple commercial development projects during a Sept. 2 work session. The minutes state the Starbucks building exterior is substantially complete, electric has been connected and crews were preparing to pour the interior floor. The Take 5 Oil Change project is progressing and concrete slab work was slated to begin.
The Ameren substation project remains on hold while Ameren pursues a separate major electrical project along Watson, Martys and Heege. Chairman Bornmueller also met with the property owner at 7895 Watson to discuss proposed changes; the board asked the attorney to draft a letter outlining required items including an occupancy permit, business licenses, limits on trailers/containers and the redevelopment process for review.
