Board honors Governor’s award recipients, recognizes retirees; public commends Youth Month

The Woodland Park Board of Education opened the May 12 meeting by recognizing recipients of the Governor’s Educator of the Year and Governor’s Educational Services Professional of the Year awards. The minutes list recipients by school—examples include Jayme Face and Jamie Casasnovas (Preschool), Meghan Glenn (Memorial), and others across the district.
The board also acknowledged retirees and recorded years of service: JoAnn Woessner (18 years); Rosemary Ficarra (21 years); Lynne Donato (25 years); Karen Criscione (25 years); and Lauren Wittig (29 years). During public comment, resident Mike Sica of 3 Pebble Dr. commended the Youth Month participants.
The recognitions and retiree acknowledgments were presented early in the meeting as ceremonial items. The minutes do not record extended statements from honorees; the public comment consisted of brief praise for student participants.
