Granite County begins preliminary FY2026–27 budget work session; valuations pending
Summary
During a July 28 work session, the county conducted preliminary review of multiple budgets — including courthouse, sheriff, road, public health and gas tax funds — and directed staff to refine projections once certified taxable valuations are received. No formal budget decisions were made.
Clerk and Recorder Sarah Graham told the Board that certified taxable valuations had not yet been received and that the county's budget figures remained preliminary pending those values.
Commissioners and staff reviewed multiple preliminary budgets including the County Building, Sheriff's Office, Road Department, Public Health, Extension, Flint Creek Dam and Gas Tax funds. The Board directed staff to research funding options, gather additional information on capital and maintenance items (including the courthouse roof and Road Department equipment needs) and update projections after certified valuations are available.
