Board authorizes $7,000–$9,000 for NYSDEC landfill-cap inspections

Supervisor Corcoran explained the town must have NYSDEC inspections of the repaired landfill cap in connection with the ongoing solar project and that $7,000 is budgeted; the DEC estimate could range from $7,000 to $9,000. "There is $7,000.00 budgeted and the DEC estimate states it could cost $7-$9,000.00," Corcoran said. Councilman Cauchi moved to authorize the Supervisor to spend $7,000–$9,000 for the inspections; Councilman Appler Jr. seconded and the motion carried 5–0.
Board members said the inspections are required because the cap was repaired and to support the progressing solar project; the motion authorizes the expenditure within the approved range and directs the Supervisor to coordinate with DEC.
