Royse City ISD trustees approve consent agenda, new hires and ratify multiple resignations

The Royse City Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the consent agenda and several personnel actions during its April 14 regular meeting.

Trustee Mike Anderson moved to approve the consent agenda, which included minutes, monthly financial reports, the approved vendor list, quarterly investment and budget amendment reports, purchases over $50,000, an annual retainer agreement with Walsh, Gallegos, Trevino, Kyle & Robinson, P.C., the RDSPD SSA contract for the Mesquite Regional Day School Program for the Deaf, and an easement on FM 35 & CR 2591. Jessica Ratterree seconded the motion and the board voted 6–0 (one member absent) to adopt the consent items.

Following closed session, trustees approved recommendations for hire presented by the superintendent. The board approved hires including Jessica Mosley (Moss), Emily Austin (Scott), Katrina Ellis (RCHS), Justine Martinez (Special Services), Lisa Hjelm (Fort), Holly Hill (Moss), Clay Lawrence (Baley), Savannah Rodriguez (Moss), Marisa Garcia (Moss), Kristi Gerber (Moss), Regina Daniels (RCHS), Anna Preas (Moss), Jessica Williams (RCHS), and Kennedy Schneider (Moss). Amanda Self made the motion to approve the hires; Eric Fort seconded. The motion passed 6–0 (1 absent).

Superintendent Dr. Anderson asked trustees to ratify a set of resignations. Trustee Bobby Summers moved to ratify Dr. Anderson's acceptance of the listed resignations; Mike Anderson seconded and the motion passed 6–0 (1 absent).

Trustee Jessica Ratterree moved to approve teacher contracts for the 2025–26 school year; Eric Fort seconded, and the board approved the contracts on a 6–0 vote (1 absent).
