The Royse City ISD Board of Trustees on March 10 accepted the certification of two unopposed candidates for school board seats and approved an order canceling the May 3 general election for those positions.
Trustee Brian Zator moved to accept the certification of unopposed candidates for Places Six and Seven and was seconded by Mike Anderson; the board accepted that certification and then approved an Order of Cancellation for the May 3, 2025 general election regarding Places Six and Seven by a motion from Eric Fort, seconded by Bobby Summers. The motions passed 6-0 (1 absent).
Per the transcript, Cindi Jobe was the lone applicant for Place 6 and Jessica Ratterree was the lone applicant for Place 7; the board did not take further action on contested elections for these seats because the candidates were unopposed. The transcript does not include statutory citations or an expanded legal justification beyond the certification and the board order recorded in the minutes.
