The Court approved continuation of the agreement with K9 Classmates LLC for therapy dog services used by county victim-services staff. Ms. Tharp said the contract continues, the monthly amount increased because of demand, and the county's forfeiture fund will pay the cost.
"Most importantly, what I'd like to highlight is that the cost of this agreement is paid 100% with my asset forfeiture fund. It is not paid from general fund. It is not paid from tax dollars," Ms. Tharp told the Court. She said the dogs and handler are used frequently in victim services. Commissioners moved and unanimously approved the contract continuation.
