Conservation advisory committee updates board on bronze certification, EV charging and solar farm outreach

Mici Simonofsky, chair of the Conservation Advisory Committee, read the CAC report to the Town Board on Feb. 23. The committee said it is continuing work toward bronze certification and has scheduled meetings with the Hudson Valley Regional Council for professional guidance.
Simonofsky told the board the CAC is investigating spring presentation opportunities, anticipates collaboration with the LEOS group, and is awaiting Central Hudson’s availability to complete an EV charging station hookup. She said the committee hopes to present information to the public about the town’s solar farm construction and participation opportunities with NEXAMP’s billing options. The CAC also noted the town needs a representative to the Ulster County Environmental Management Council.
Board members discussed the representative appointment briefly; no formal board action was taken during the workshop beyond receiving the report.
