Ulster County Legislator Donovan outlines priorities, supports restoring early voting in Marlborough

Ulster County Legislator Laura Donovan provided a first-month update to the Marlborough Town Board on Feb. 9, outlining committee assignments and priorities.
Donovan said she was appointed to the Economic Development, Planning, Education, Arts & Agriculture Committee, where she will focus on agritourism, support for small businesses, downtown Marlborough revitalization (including the Triangle area) and long-term parking solutions. She also serves on the Public Works & Capital Projects Committee and praised local highway department efforts during recent snowstorms while noting county awareness of a regional salt shortage.
Donovan is a member of the Ways & Means Committee and said she is reviewing resolution documentation that affects Marlborough, including a Board of Elections contract that would restore early voting at the Marlborough Community Center; she expressed her support for the contract. Donovan said county leaders have negotiated a new five-year sales tax-sharing agreement that increases guaranteed funding for towns and villages and may provide bonus funding.
