Melissa Krause, speaking for the Krause family, told the Comal County Commissioners Court she and her family have been sustained by faith and community support following the sudden death of Judge Sherman Krause. "You have surrounded our family with your prayers, your compassion, your meals, your messages, your presence," she said.
The court opened the meeting with a prayer and Commissioner Hogg temporarily suspended the usual three-minute public comment limit so Melissa Krause could speak. She asked the community to "carry on his spirit of service" in small, everyday acts and thanked staff, county leaders and the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung for their support and coverage. The court recessed after her remarks and then continued with the action agenda.
