Court approves several administrative items: sole‑source software exemptions, IT server transfer, parks donations and an insurance settlement

During the action agenda the court approved a set of routine administrative and procurement items: discretionary sole‑source exemptions for software licensing and support, a line‑item transfer to cover increased per‑unit costs for two replacement host servers, a budget amendment to accept donations for parks projects, and acceptance of an insurance settlement for a Sheriff's Office vehicle.

Mr. Davila presented justification for sole‑source exemptions, noting the local government code permits exemptions when items can be obtained from only one source. "Please accept this letter as justification of this sole source exemption," he said while asking the court to consider Motorola Solutions Incorporated for Spillman Flex public safety software licensing and support. The court approved the Motorola exemption by voice vote.

On a separate item, Mr. Davila presented a similar sole‑source justification for Tyler Technologies covering multiple county software systems (New World, Odyssey, time & attendance and jury software); the court approved that exemption as well. IT staff (Ms. Spies) requested an internal budget transfer to cover increased unit costs for two replacement host servers; the court approved the transfer.

Parks staff (Stuart) asked to increase budget lines to reflect donations accepted on Jan. 8 so procurement can proceed for four new scoreboards and an air‑conditioning unit at Hidden Valley Sports Park and tennis construction at Jumbo Evans Sports Park. The court approved the budget amendment.

Finally, staff presented a State Farm settlement offer for a total loss of Sheriff's Office unit 2203 in the amount of $35,131.63; the court accepted the settlement offer by voice vote.
