The Township of Mahwah Board of Adjustment approved routine administrative items at its July 22, 2026 meeting, including bills and minutes. A motion to approve a $500 charge for Attorney John Conte, Esq. (meeting attendance) and a $250 charge for Colliers Engineering & Design was approved by roll call with five aye votes (Mr. Kearney, Mr. Lockwood, Mr. Serna, Mr. Sitar and Mr. Taylor).
The Board also approved minutes for June 15, 2022; July 20, 2022; and June 17, 2026. Motions to approve the minutes were made and seconded and recorded as carried for eligible members.
Acting Chairman Mr. Lockwood moved the Board into a closed session on potential litigation, reading the motion into the record: "I move that the Board consult in private with its Attorney concerning the Board’s legal rights and duties in reference to a specific matter; the exact discussion will not be disclosed. However, any action to be taken by the Board as a result of said conference shall be taken in public." Mr. Sitar seconded the motion. The Board did not disclose closed-session discussion in the public minutes.
A motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Sitar and seconded by Mr. Taylor; all voted in favor and the meeting adjourned at 8:23 p.m. The minutes for the meeting were prepared by Michelle Sheydwasser, Board of Adjustment Recording Secretary, and will be provided to the Board for approval at the August 5, 2026 regular meeting.
