Trustees and the mayor recognized Maybrook Troop 236 and local scouting achievements during the June 23 meeting.
Mayor Dennis Leahy and Trustee William Giannico thanked troop leaders and volunteers for 40 years of service and congratulated Liam Giannico as Scout of the Year. The mayor also noted that Eagle Scout Hunter Pearson‑Leary completed a service project painting dugouts and the concession stand at the major softball field.
Trustees praised troop leadership and volunteer support. The board recorded appreciation for Jim Barnett, Bill Giannico, Abbey Williams, Paul Brahm and Amy Whitmore for their work with the scouts.
