Commission issues negative determination for NitROE tank at 339 Lake Street

The Tisbury Conservation Commission on Jan. 6 approved a negative determination for the installation of a 2,000-gallon NitROE tank at 339 Lake Street after hearing a staff-designated representative describe placement and controls.
"The tank will be placed in the lawn area near the flower bed by the driveway and will not expand closer to the resource area," said Tracey Smith of Schofield Barbini and Hoehn during the presentation. The commission required a wattle be installed for erosion control before work proceeds.
Commissioner John Best moved to issue the negative determination; Sarah Toste seconded the motion. The measure passed unanimously with Commissioners Thomas Robinson, John Best, Caroline Little, Lilian Robinson and Sarah Toste voting in favor. The determination means the proposed tank installation will not require further permitting under the Wetlands Protection Act as presented, subject to the condition noted by the Commission.
The project was presented as sited in the R50 zoning district. The Commission’s minutes record the condition (wattle for erosion control) as a site-control requirement to be implemented during construction.
