The board approved two personnel-related actions during May 19's meeting. Board Member Thomas Bowers moved to approve an annual Teacher Incentive Allotment mentor stipend of $500 for teachers who provide yearlong support to newly hired educators; Board Secretary Crystal Saldaña seconded the motion and the board voted 7-0 in favor.
In a separate motion, Board Member Israel Ethan Garza moved to approve an additional Special Education teaching position at Welder Elementary for the 2025–2026 school year; the motion was seconded by Thomas Bowers and passed unanimously. The minutes record both votes as 7-0.
