Sinton ISD board approves property insurance renewal and purchase of new AG truck; tables some campus projects

At the May 19 meeting the Sinton ISD Board approved a property insurance renewal and authorized the purchase of a new AG truck by unanimous votes.
"A motion was made by Board Secretary Crystal Saldaña to approve the property insurance renewal," the minutes state; the motion was seconded by Board Member Richard Gingrich and passed 7-0. Vice President Danny Lorberau moved to approve the purchase of a new AG truck (seconded by Sam P. Lankford); that motion also passed 7-0.
On facilities matters, the board tabled a new fencing project for Lamar/SMS campus, Sinton High School and Welder Elementary; the minutes record the motion was seconded by a board member recorded in the minutes as "Thomas Gingrich," a name that is inconsistent with other sections of the minutes. The board also tabled approval of new windscreens at the SMS and SHS tennis courts. Separately, Board Member Israel Ethan Garza moved to approve a gym floor project at Smith Middle School not to exceed $33,000 from fund balance; the motion, seconded by Vice President Danny Lorberau, passed unanimously.
These actions move forward campus insurance coverage and selected capital maintenance while deferring other site projects for later review.
