Board OKs $64,356 Chevy Silverado to support plowing and maintenance

The board approved the purchase of a 2026 Chevy Silverado from Currie Motors for $64,356, using the Schools of Illinois Purchasing Cooperative. The purchase was proposed during director reports by Director Tom Tiede as a multi-purpose service and snowplow vehicle to support district operations and allow in-house plowing rather than contracting the work.

Motion to approve the purchase was made by Megan DuPass and seconded by Steve Dlugo; the vote was unanimous (7–0). Board members noted the vehicle’s role in timely snow removal and campus maintenance operations and thanked custodial and transportation staff for ongoing facilities work.

Procurement will proceed through the cooperative contract; the Transportation/Buildings and Grounds department will manage integration and deployment of the truck for winter and maintenance operations.
