Tim Heiden, Brownfield Authority chairman, offered to arrange training with a consultant to help commissioners better understand brownfield practices and processes. He told the board the authority has reviewed plans and can "dumb it down" to make the steps clear. The board accepted the training offer and said staff will coordinate logistics.
The land-bank environmental testing authorization passed by voice vote during the meeting; staff said the testing will include reporting and clearance steps required to move a property toward redevelopment under brownfield financing.
