Maybrook rescinded snow emergency after Jan. 25–26 storm; cleanup continues

Mayor Dennis Leahy reported the village prepared in advance of a severe snowstorm by signing Emergency Order No. 1 on Jan. 24, 2026. The order covered the storm that affected the area Jan. 25–26; Leahy told the board that the state of emergency was officially rescinded on Jan. 29 at 5:00 p.m.
Leahy publicly thanked the Maybrook Department of Public Works and the Maybrook Police Department for coordinated efforts clearing roadways and ensuring access for emergency vehicles. He said snowstorm cleanup operations were expected to continue into the following day and asked residents for patience as crews complete remaining work.
