Maybrook issues Halloween curfew, sets trick-or-treat hours and community events

The Village Board said it authorized a Local Emergency Order imposing a Halloween curfew in Maybrook from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Thursday, Oct. 30 through Friday, Oct. 31, ending Saturday, Nov. 1 at 6 a.m. The Board also advised that Halloween trick-or-treat hours in the village will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 and encouraged participating households to leave porch lights on.
Mayor Leahy and trustees thanked residents and volunteers for the first annual Trunk or Treat and Family Movie Night on Oct. 25, singling out Clerk/Treasurer David Griffith, Deputy Treasurer Renee DeZemo and Trustee Bill Giannico for coordinating the event. The mayor also announced a Maybrook Wind Ensemble "Spooky and Scary Halloween Concert" scheduled for Oct. 30 at the Maybrook Senior Center, with registration required.
The Board's curfew order and event guidance are intended to concentrate trick-or-treating into supervised hours and to allow police to focus patrols during late-night curfew hours.
