Maybrook to mill and pave streets beginning Sept. 8; movie night and community shred set for Sept. 5

Mayor Dennis K. Leahy detailed community events and public works work at the Aug. 25 meeting. He said the DPW will begin micro-milling and paving on specified streets starting Sept. 8 (Blake Rd., Crystal Dr., Palmer Ct., Saracino Dr., Greening Place and Watts Lane) with an expected duration of about 14 workdays; parking restrictions from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be in effect while work proceeds.
The Village will host a Family Movie Night on Friday, Sept. 5 (outdoors at dusk, moving indoors at 7 p.m. if it rains) and a Fall Community Shred Day on Sept. 5 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Maybrook Government Center, free for residents. Mayor Leahy also noted early voting for the 2025 general election begins Oct. 26 at the Village of Montgomery Senior Center and encouraged residents to display teal ribbons in September and pink ribbons in October for cancer awareness.
The mayor and DPW also noted upcoming curb replacement on Greening Place beginning Aug. 26 and encouraged residents to watch for notifications as work proceeds. DPW Superintendent Thorp previewed paving work and reminded residents of potential parking restrictions.
