The Village of Maybrook Board of Trustees voted July 28 to grant Gem Energy a 45-day extension on a Conditional Approval Special Permit so the company can finish construction ahead of a September 21, 2025 deadline.
Dan Liszka of Gem Energy told the Board that "construction needs to be completed by September 21st" and that recent heavy rainfall and challenging terrain have delayed work. Deputy Mayor Charles Woznick moved to grant the extension, and the motion passed 4-0.
Attorney Kelly Naughton and village staff reviewed the permit status with the applicant before the vote. The board did not attach additional conditions to the extension in the meeting minutes; the company was informed of the need to meet the revised completion date or face potential remedy requirements under the permit conditions.
The decision was recorded as a formal board motion with a 4-0 tally.
