The Duchesne County Commission on July 27 recognized the county 4‑H Livestock Judging Team after the group won the state championship. USU Extension Director Brooke Holgate introduced the team members — Sadie Cifuentes, Whitlee Theener and Dallie Jo Pehrson — and described the competition format and how each judge evaluates market and breeding animals.
Holgate told the commission the team competed with only three members, "so every score counted," and each judge shared remarks of gratitude to their coach and families. Commissioners Greg Miles, Tracy Killian and Jeff Chugg commended the students and encouraged them to carry the teamwork lessons into adulthood. A copy of the recognition will be reflected in the minutes.
