Police Chief Brad Burns recommended that Officer Tanner McCue attend a four-week Crimes Against Children Certified Investigator course at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Training Academy in Pearl, Mississippi, beginning in April 2026. The board voted to send Tanner McCue to the course and to pay the $1,300 registration fee plus any related costs allowed by state law.
Alderman Brent Sistrunk moved to approve the training; Alderman Brian Grantham seconded the motion. The motion "was carried by a unanimous vote" during the Jan. 6, 2026 meeting. The training is presented in the work session agenda posted for Jan. 6, 2026 and was recommended by Chief Burns during the regular meeting.
