At the Dec. 2 meeting, Florence aldermen approved an annual Water Data Management Software subscription from Aquatic Informatics for $9,523.48, after a recommendation from Public Works Water/Sewer Operator Billy Russell. Alderman John Banks moved approval and Alderman Brent Sistrunk seconded; the minutes record the motion as carried unanimously. The minutes note the purchase is from a sole-source provider and that a letter is attached to the record.
The software purchase was presented as an operating expense for the Public Works Department to manage water data. The city will proceed with payment and implementation steps consistent with the sole-source justification attached to the department recommendation.
