The Lakeview Junior High School Board approved the FY26 Amended Budget and two fund abatements at its June 10 meeting in Downers Grove. A motion to approve the amended budget, moved by Doug Wiley and seconded by Darren Spiegel, passed on a 6–0 vote with one member absent.
Superintendent Dr. Wise said the board’s amended budget commits $500,000 to Fund Balance to rebuild reserves and support curriculum, staffing and facilities improvements. “Dr. Wise presented the Amended Budget and commended the Board of Education for putting $500,000 in Fund Balance,” the board packet notes. Two abatements were approved to transfer $100,000 from the Education Fund and $320,000 from the Working Cash Fund into the Operations & Maintenance Fund to support building maintenance and planned projects.
Board members voted on each resolution by roll call; votes were recorded as six yeas, zero nays, and one absent. The board indicated the abatements are intended to align short-term cash needs with the district’s three-year facility plan and not to increase taxpayer levies.
