Long Lake board adopts tentative 2026 budget as preliminary, cancels Oct. 15 workshop

The Town Board of Long Lake voted to adopt the Tentative Budget for fiscal year 2026 as the Preliminary Budget under Resolution Number 53 of 2025. Supervisor Clay J. Arsenault opened the Oct. 8 workshop by noting the town "is currently under the tax cap by 2.457%," and the board moved to formalize the tentative plan for public review.
The resolution, as adopted, directs that the Preliminary Budget be filed with the Town Clerk and made available for public inspection "in accordance with New York State Town Law," and it cancels the previously noticed budget workshop scheduled for Oct. 15, 2025. Councilman Nathan S. Hosley moved to accept Resolution 53; Councilman Mark A. Bird seconded. The board recorded the vote as Clay J. Arsenault Aye, Mark A. Bird Aye, Thomas L. Donnelly Aye and Nathan S. Hosley Aye.
The board also directed the Town Clerk to publish the updated public notice and attach a certified copy of the public hearing notice to the Town Clerk's records. The minutes show the action was attested by Amber L. Wamback, 1st Deputy Town Clerk.
