Long Lake board adds funds for nature trails, docks and beach safety items

At the Oct. 1 budget workshop the Town Board approved several Parks & Recreation adjustments for the 2026 tentative budget, including funding to complete multi-use trails and to shore up dock and beach equipment.
The board added $25,000 "to finish the multi-use trails at 646 Deerland Road." Beach equipment was increased by $1,532 to buy new swim buoys and two additional trampolines as backups. The docks line was increased by $6,890 to purchase new dock sections for the Town Dock in case existing sections cannot be repaired. The Mount Sabattis equipment line was reduced by $17,100, reflecting the 2025 purchase of a Snowdogg trail machine.
These project-level adjustments were presented during the workshop as specific line-item changes for inclusion in the tentative 2026 budget; no construction schedules or vendor contracts were discussed at the meeting.
