Council praises Shaw Brook cleanup; residents thank staff and report a well pump replacement

During the Sept. 24 public-comment and council-comments portions of the meeting, Councilman Nathan S. Hosley praised the County's work on the Shaw Brook cleanup. Councilman Mark A. Bird relayed resident complaints about a stray dog in Raquette Lake and said attempts to reach the dog-control officer had been unsuccessful; Supervisor Clay Arsenault suggested residents call the Town Clerk's Office so First Deputy Town Clerk Amber Wamback could follow up.
In public comment Mike Farrell asked that Paul Wilson be recognized for his FEMA-related work. Rodney Begin reported accomplishments by the Beautification Committee. Water Superintendent Kieth Austin reported that a Stanton Hill well pump had stopped working, that the crew installed a new pump, and that the well is back up and running. The meeting proceeded into executive session at 7:16 p.m. and resumed at 7:55 p.m. with no action taken.
