The resolution (Resolution 51 of 2025) caps compensation at $20,000 without further Board approval and directs that funds be drawn from budget line A1355.400.
Minutes note the Sole Elected Assessor reviewed five appraiser proposals (selected by outside counsel) and that the Town has discussed cost-sharing with the Long Lake Central School District; the Board asked the School District to provide a letter of intent to share appraisal costs on a ratio approximating the town/school tax revenue split (approximately 60% town / 40% school). The Town Attorney and outside counsel are to assist with finalizing the engagement due to the pending litigation. The motion was adopted unanimously.
