Principal reports testing dates, field trips and staff training at Cerro Gordo elementary

Principal Neaveill presented the elementary report covering testing, instruction and student activities. The minutes record that the IAR was administered for third grade during the week of March 9–13, grades 4 and 5 took IAR March 16–20, and the ISA is scheduled for fifth grade April 7–9; midterms went home on Feb. 6 and report cards on March 13.
Neaveill also listed student activities and staff professional development: grades 3–5 traveled to the Parkland Planetarium on March 31; Yvette Casner and Amanda Roberts attended Reading Recovery training on March 10; Courtney Drew and Bionca Tabbert attended a Kindergarten conference March 4–6; and School Improvement Day on Feb. 13 focused on dyslexia. Dental exams are scheduled March 23, 24, 26 and 27 and PTO will bring the STAR Lab to CGES on April 13.
