Long Lake Board moves to override tax-levy limit and accepts tentative 2026 budget; Oct. 29 hearings set

At the Sept. 24 meeting the Board introduced Local Law (Introductory No. 2 of 2025) that would allow the Town to override the tax-levy limit established by New York General Municipal Law 3-c for fiscal year 2026. The Board ordered publication of a public hearing for Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at 7:00 p.m.; written comments may be submitted before the hearing.
Separately, the Board accepted the Supervisor's Tentative Budget for 2026 (Resolution 44 of 2025). The Board scheduled budget workshops for Oct. 1, Oct. 8 and Oct. 15 at 7:00 p.m., directed that the Preliminary Budget be presented to the Town Clerk no later than Oct. 22, 2025, and set a public hearing on the Preliminary Budget for Oct. 29, 2025. The Board voted unanimously on the budget resolution.
