President Miller called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and later moved "to adjourn to executive session at 6:34 p.m. for 5 ILCS 120/2 © (1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body; 5 ILCS 120/2 © (21) - Discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under the Open Meetings Act, whether for purposes of approval by the body of the minutes or semi-annual review of the minutes; 5 ILCS 120/2 © (10) - The placement of individual students in special education programs and other matters relating to individual students; 5 ILCS 120/2 © (9) - Student disciplinary cases." Curran seconded the motion and the board approved it on roll call (Curran, Greenwood, Howell, Miller, Runyen, Bebar — all yea).
The board returned from executive session at 7:30 p.m.; Curran moved to return and Runyen seconded. The board then voted to approve the executive-session minutes as having been read in executive session and completed the required semi-annual review of closed meeting minutes. Both actions were approved on roll call with all members present voting yea.
The meeting record shows the board used the named statutory exemptions in citing the executive session. The transcript repeats the roll-call "yeas" for each motion; the meeting minutes record no dissent and no formal motions resulted in public disciplinary action at the session.
