Robert C. Sassi moved the supplemental appropriation; Michael L. Essig seconded the motion and the committee approved it unanimously.
Inaudy Gil, Executive Director of the Human Rights Commission, said the funds are existing money the commission has collected and that she would like access to the money so it can be used for expenses. Gil said the commission plans to open a Community Foundation Fund and compared the arrangement to similar funds held by the Youth Bureau and Aging programs, noting that using the funds will "help with fundraisers and donations."
