The Personnel and Compensation Committee voted to create two Recruitment and Retention Specialist positions (Grade 13) and one Operations Manager (Grade 15) to replace the current titles of Ombudsman and Confidential Secretary to the Commissioner of Human Resources. The motion was moved by Paul Ruszkiewicz and seconded by Kathy A. Stegenga; the committee approved the change unanimously.
Committee materials state there will be no promotions, grade changes or added costs associated with the title changes. The motion recorded that upon incumbents successfully attaining permanent status the existing Ombudsman position (#045351), a vacant Ombudsman position (#005595) and the Confidential Secretary to the Commissioner of Human Resources position will be abolished. Langdon Chapman, Commissioner of Human Resources, explained the duties the new positions will perform during the meeting.
