Highway Commissioner Kyle Walter told the board the department is conducting weekly road checks, had all trucks inspected and tested, and completed maintenance on tractors in preparation for ditch mowing. He said contractor Majestic repaved cul‑de‑sacs on Ryan Road and Rita Drive and repaired part of Rita Drive.
Walter said bridge construction on North White Oaks began around the first of May and is expected to be completed by Nov. 1. He reported inmate crews had assisted with weed‑whacking and storm cleanup and that Truck 3 wiring was repaired by John Golic. Walter also observed the township’s three large trucks are older and said the department needs to begin replacements; he will prepare numbers for discussion at the June 18 meeting.
No procurement decisions were made at the meeting; Walter’s note that replacement numbers will be presented on June 18 signals a forthcoming board discussion tied to capital spending.
