The Northern Humboldt Union High School District Governing Board approved routine consent items and a series of staff-recommended actions at its Oct. 14 meeting.
The board approved the consent agenda — including minutes, warrants, ASB warrants, personnel changes, and monthly financial reports — on a motion by Torie Moulton, seconded by Jamie Bush; the minutes record the outcome as "Motion carried, 4-0-1." The board also approved student travel for Arcata High School and McKinleyville High School: Europe travel April 7–19, 2026 (Item 5.2) and East Coast travel April 8–19, 2026 (Item 5.3). That motion was moved by Torie Moulton and seconded by Christine Yannone and recorded as carried, 4-0-1.
The board made several appointments and approvals: community members Wendell Bedell (AHS) and Julie Dalmolen (MHS) were approved to serve on the Athletic Advisory Committee for 2025–26; the board appointed Christine Yannone and Jamie Bush to serve on that committee as board liaisons. The board also approved Cedric Aaron Jr. as the district's voting representative to the County Committee on School District Organization.
Several motions in the minutes are recorded simply as "Motion carried, 4-0-1," with one member absent for roll call. No roll-call breakdown by name for each vote is provided in the minutes.
