Shallowater ISD board approves 2024–25 budget amendments and schedules public budget meeting

The Shallowater Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved two budget amendments for the 2024–25 fiscal year at its Aug. 18 meeting.
Trustee Brian Carreon moved to approve budget amendments #BA5004 and #BA5005; Trustee Bradley Price seconded and the motion passed 7–0. The board also reviewed the district's financial report, presented by the business manager, tied to Goal 5: strengthening the budget and planning district infrastructure.
The board set a public meeting for Aug. 28, 2025, at 7:30 a.m. to discuss the 2025–26 budget and the proposed tax rate, followed by a special board meeting. Trustees reviewed 2024–25 PTO and booster-club reports and completed a formative evaluation of the superintendent during the agenda of information items.
The board recessed for closed session at 7:54 p.m. and reconvened before approving remaining agenda items later in the meeting.
