Bonnie Johnson (S8), chair of the Beautification Committee, presented plans to place two boxwood planters (about 4.5 feet tall in pots) flanking the town-hall entry and to install one or two weatherproof benches that can convert to a tabletop configuration. "We would maintain them," Johnson said, and explained the committee would fund the items from its existing budget and pause using funds for the perennial garden.
Board members agreed the planters likely were acceptable but asked staff to coordinate with the road crew and parks staff about location, winter storage and snow-plow conflicts before signing off. The board asked staff to bring a recommended placement back for final approval at a future meeting rather than approving a specific installation tonight.
