At a March 18 goals-setting session, Mayor Bordes told council members that homelessness and affordable housing should be city priorities. Councilor Hildreth reiterated concern about homelessness and emphasized housing needs and controlled growth at the former state school site.
The session was a facilitated work session led by City Manager Kirk Beattie and Assistant Planning Director Tyler Carmichael. Beattie will present a summary of the goal-setting process at the April 13, 2026 City Council meeting, giving the council a chance to formalize next steps.
