Engineer: IEPA permit for Well 7 expected; village must retest for radium and gross alpha

C.E.S. engineer reported the IEPA indicated the Well House construction permit should be issued the week of May 26; final water testing must include radium and gross alpha retesting before an operating permit can be granted.
Kevin Adam Bunge of C.E.S. told the Committee that the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency had communicated by email on May 22 that the Well House construction permit "should be issued early the week of (5/26)." He said final well water quality testing will require retesting for radium and gross alpha when the village applies for operating permits.
Bunge described construction details including the installed epoxy floor and the requirement that a Dan Foss representative be present for the variable-frequency-drive "bump" test once power is connected. He also noted recent weather delayed north grading work and that the project team will resume grading after several dry days. The engineering report was placed on file with the permanent record.
