Brian Cassidy told the council the village will remove beach stairs at Stops 38, 39 and 42 at the end of the month; Stops 37 and 41.5 will remain open. He also reminded residents that kayaks and paddle boards must be removed from the beach by Oct. 15 and that garbage cans will be removed from beach stops at month's end.
Street Superintendent Rick Reitz reported two more drywells were installed on Long Lake Shore Drive (near Stops 38 and 39), making a total of four drywells budgeted for the year. Reitz said staff cleared tree branches on Hillside and Mohawks and are installing cable wiring from the street garage to the police side to improve Wi‑Fi coverage to the basketball area and the pavilion near the courts; leaf pickup will begin at the end of the month.
