The Minidoka County Joint School District board approved a revised 2024–25 budget and adopted the 2025–26 budget at a June 30 special budget hearing. School finance staff described the district's fund balance and projected expenditures, and trustees voted to adopt both budgets.
School finance staff told trustees that while the balance sheet shows about $8.5 million, significant expenditures remain, including state insurance transitions, raises for employees not in discretionary funds, a school nutrition deficit and planned levy projects. A staff presentation said it takes approximately $3 million a month to cover district expenses and that the district strives to keep a 5% contingency to cover unexpected costs. Trustees moved and carried motions to approve the revised 2024–25 budget and the 2025–26 budget; records show the motions carried with trustees voting in favor.
