County reports 175 fraud probes in March; 98 substantiations and $3.5 million disbursed in child support

Lacey Trimble reported the Front-End Detection System (FEDS) and Eligibility Verification Review (EVR) investigated 175 cases in March for alleged fraud and abuse. She said 98 of those cases were found to have substantiated fraud and 78 resulted in overpayment findings.
Trimble also told the committee that the Child Support unit managed 9,110 cases in March and collected and dispersed $3.5 million that month. Committee members did not take formal action on fraud policy at this meeting but were briefed on enforcement outcomes and ongoing eligibility verification work.
