Highway commissioner reports equipment repairs, pothole patching and storm plowing

Highway Commissioner Bob Nystrom briefed the board on road maintenance and equipment work. He listed routine items including weekly road checks, changing plow blades on Truck #2 and replacing a rear tire; he also said the crew "Filled potholes through the Township." Nystrom reported repairing strobe lights on Truck #3, replacing a brake chamber after taking a truck to Peterson Farms, and ordering a spare tire for the large trucks.
Nystrom said crews removed a fallen tree from Lilja after a recent storm and plowed on March 16, when the township received about five inches of snow despite forecasts of about one inch. He also noted the crew has dismantled TVs left at the township building and watched a webinar regarding potential township consolidation.
