Valley View financial report shows 91.6% April occupancy (246-bed basis) and ongoing CHHA shortfall

Laurence LaDue presented the Valley View monthly financial report for April 2026 at the committee meeting.
LaDue said Other revenues totaled $11.9 million for April; personal services were $6.7 million, contractual expenses $2.8 million, employee benefits $5.3 million, and serial bond interest $22,695. He reported occupancy at 91.60% based on 246 beds; Medicaid utilization was 78.68%, Medicaid (HMO) 1.78%, Medicare 13.49% and private pay 5.61%. He also noted the CHHA remains not self-sufficient and costs the county about $200,000 per year.
Legislators asked where CHHA financials appear in the monthly statements; LaDue said CHHA is included under Other revenues. No formal motions were made on the financial report itself at the meeting; the committee recorded the figures for oversight and follow-up.
