Assessor reports steady sales, $725,000 factory sale and 13 new homes under construction

Township Assessor John Killeen presented the assessor's report, saying "New Sales continue to stay on track with past volume of sales and prices continue to hold steady." He told the board a smaller factory recently sold for $725,000 and described development activity: 13 new homes are under construction, seven of them duplexes, plus five new foundations and one new farm building under construction.
Killeen said McHenry County will issue the annual equalization factor at the end of March or the first week of April; his office is preparing to apply that factor to 2025 values and comparing equalized values to market values. He also said assessors are working with a group and the County Assessors Association and CCAO to study farm assessments and that the association drafted a letter to McHenry County legislators in Springfield opposing the currently proposed consolidation bills.
