The Health and Mental Health Committee approved the 2025 Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) review for the Valley View Certified Home Health Agency on May 19.
Laurence LaDue explained the QAPI framework—combining retrospective quality assurance with proactive performance improvement—and said the 2025 focus targeted physical- and occupational-therapy functional improvements and several process-of-care initiatives. Data sources include the Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (IQIES) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services reports; the QAPI Committee meets quarterly and the clinical team reviews performance data monthly.
Legislator Jonathan Redeker asked that future reports include year-over-year averages rather than single-year snapshots to better reflect trends. Legislative Counsel Betsy N. Abraham requested clarification about whether the annual plan required committee approval; LaDue confirmed that it does and updated his submission accordingly. Janet Sutherland moved to approve the QAPI review, Matthew Turnbull seconded, and the motion carried with "All in favor."
